The moment
Overcrank Media is a boutique production house based in Bali, specialising in branded documentaries and commercials. James Bowen, the founder, had a precise sense of what the brand needed to feel. Motion. Strength. Cinematic energy. Something that could live on a helmet, a screen, and a piece of gear with equal confidence. Two agencies had already tried. Neither had found it.
The real problem
The brief wasn't unclear. James knew exactly what he wanted. The problem was that translating feeling into form requires more than technical skill. It requires the ability to hear what someone is describing and see it before it exists. The conversation started not with fonts or shapes but with energy. What does Overcrank feel like in motion? What does it sound like? What should someone feel when they see the mark for the first time? That conversation produced the direction everything else followed.
The direction
Typography was built from the ground up. Every curve, angle, and edge shaped to carry both weight and flow. The emblem went through multiple directions, each strong in isolation, none fully right. So the process slowed down. Listened harder. And from that space the final mark emerged. Custom type paired with a standalone emblem. Bold enough to own a room. Refined enough to hold up at any size. Built to move like the work it represents.



A vision two agencies couldn't find. Found by starting with feeling, not form.

Overcrank Media has an identity that moves like the work it represents. The mark lives across gear, screens, apparel, and production assets with the same confidence in every context. A founder who had spent months searching for the right visual expression of his brand finally had it. And knew it the moment he saw it.
